Apostle of Hustle – a Broken Social Scene side project led by BSS guitarist Andrew Whiteman – releases their third full-length album. The band was originally formed as an outlet for incorporating Brazilian and Cuban influences into indie rock, a concept the band continues to explore on their current release. With Eats Darkness the band composed what Whiteman describes as a “serial poem about some struggles people go through. Battles…tactics and attitudes needed in ‘life during wartime’….the articulation of a fucked and beautiful world.” The Apostles of Hustle deliver an unconventional album full of ups and downs that should satisfy fans of both the band and Broken Social Scene.
