New Zealand comedy-folk duo Flight of the Conchords charmed us with their 2007 HBO series and subsequent self-titled release. Their second album on Sub Pop, I Told You I Was Freaky, comprises 13 tracks pulled directly from the second season. Although the songs from the second season are unable to match the level of hilarity and genius as the first, I Told You I Was Freaky is full of clever parodies and memorable lines. Some tracks like “Fashion is Danger” and “Angels” fall a little short, but Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement more than make up for it with “Sugalumps,” “We’re Both In Love With a Sexy Lady,” and “You Don’t Have to Be a Prostitute.” – Written by DBosket
