Belgian musician Gaëtan Vandewoude spent 15 years making music in various rock bands before writing his own music under the name, Isbells. Vandewoude wrote and recorded in the evenings in a “shabby old stable” and eventually added bandmates Naima Joris, Bart Borremans and Gianni Marzo. The result is a beautiful collection of touching, introspective songs that walk the fine line between hopeful and melancholy. Their debut, a strong set of acoustic songs that recall the isolated beauty of Bon Iver, is hopefully just the beginning. – Written by DBosket
