Goldfinch’s self-released album is a very personal set of songs by Aaron Stevens and Grace Sullivan. All throughout Goldfinch, Stevens and Sullivan sing together in slow harmonies wrought with emotion and vivid images of lost love and broken bonds. According to their website, the songs were recorded on a single track with live vocals to maintain an honest, albeit sometimes imperfect, sound, which complements their alt-country songs. Besides a hiccup or two throughout the album, Goldfinch’s strength lies in its vocals, especially on “Go Easy On Me.” Other standout tracks are “Bindle” and “Be Sweet.” – Written by DBosket
