Brooklyn-via-Louisville singer/songwriter Dawn Landes blurs the line between indie rock, alt-country, and folk on her new album Sweet Heart Rodeo which nods to The Byrds’ 68 country-rock classic Sweetheart of the Rodeo. Landes started as a studio engineer working with the likes of Phillip Glass, Ryan Adams, Hem, Joseph Arthur, Josh Ritter, and Rainer Maria, many of whom influenced her unique genre blended sound. Landes’ warm vocals are the highlight of Sweet Heart Rodeo, an album of rustic, country twinged lullabies and stirring Americana songs. – Written by JFelton
