See-Saw, the first full-length from Brooklyn four-piece, Illuminations, is a surprisingly successful blend of indie rock, country, blues, and punk. This Gowanus four-piece, led by Zachary Cale’s vocals, have a sound that is hard to pin down. Part alt-country, part surf-rock, part garage…each song seems to have just the right balance of jangly, moody guitars, organ, and great hooks to keep me interested. Standout tracks include the Pavement-esque “I Don’t Know What to Tell You Baby” and “Collect Call,” and the du-wop-inspired “We All Say Goodnight.” – Written by DBosket
