Let me preface this review by saying that it is always a pleasure when I can give an artist from my hometown of Pittsburgh some love. Indiana native – now Pittsburgh based – Emily Rodgers returns with her lilting vocals and atmospheric guitar on Bright Day, her first proper album following a self-released EP. Bright Day is a gorgeous and intense record that showcases Rodgers’ resonating, emotive vocals with melancholic beauty. Bright Day is an alluring, dreamy album that will evoke comparisons to The Sundays, Mazzy Star and the Innocence Mission, all of which are apt and certainly complimentary. – Written by JFelton
