Timber Timbre is primarily the work of Toronto based Taylor Kirk, whose sound drifts between harrowing blues and haunting melancholy country. The arrangements are austere and minimalist, saturated in reverb with soulful overtones that are dark and moody. The self-titled third album is straightforward and unpretentious featuring confident but hushed vocals, understated guitar and keyboard flourishes with subtle percussions. In closing, both of Timber Timbre’s previous albums Cedar Shakes and Medicinals are also not-to-be-missed.
