LA natives Evan Koga, Danny Fujikawa, Michael Fujikawa and Michael Moonves (aka Chief) relocated to NYC, bringing California style harmonies and expansive choruses. The title of Chief’s self-released five-song EP The Castle Is Gone was taken from a beloved haunt in Malibu that was destroyed in a fire, and this sets the album’s tone of self-reflection and nostalgia. Citing Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young and Bob Dylan as influences, Koga and Danny Fujikawa write sunny pop songs layered with the solitude and claustrophobia of a big city. Look for their full-length label debut later this year.
