The marriage of Canadian indie rockers Melissa McClelland and Luke Doucet is one made in heaven. Both accomplished solo musicians in their own right, together as Whitehorse they are simply staggering. It’s not just the harmonious blend of two talents, or a matter of their personal chemistry, it is both of these and the fullness and richness of the sound of them together. This is especially clear in the revisions to earlier solo tracks “Passenger 24” and “Broken”, but also shines in their originals as well. Their self-titled album is an excellent collection of country blues / Americana roots rock, complete with a fun, foot tapping country cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “I’m on Fire.” – Written by JFelton
