Portland, OR band The Dandy Warhols is a mainstay on the indie scene, and following years of contract conflicts and label power wars the beloved four-piece is out with This Machine on Brooklyn’s The End Records. The eighth studio full-length finds lead singer Courtney Taylor-Taylor sharing songwriting duties with bandmates Zia McCabe (keyboard, synths), Peter Holmstrom (electric guitar) and Brent DeBoer (drums, percussion) take a spin at the wheel. What results is a collection of eleven guitar driven grunge-meets-goth tunes with a stripped down sound. Recorded throughout 2011 at the band’s studio The Odditorium and mixed in the UK by Tchad Blake (Black Keys), top tracks include opener “Sad Vacation”, “I Am Free”, and “Well They’re Gone.” – Written by JFelton
