The Honey Dewdrops are Laura Wortman and Kagey Parrish, a husband/wife duo who sing traditional Appalachian mountain music. Their third album Silver Lining is about strength in permanence and exploring male/female perspectives. The rich contrast in points of view does not combust but does provide a light tension which heightens the harmonies, subtly revealing their experiences as a wedded but free-thinking couple. Using the classical three-piece guitar, banjo and mandolin set-up, The Honey Dewdrops perform both finely-crafted originals as well as a cover of The Seeger Sisters’ “Bright Morning Stars.” – Written by SMarx
