Vancouver’s The Sumner Brothers (Brian and Bob) are back with their sophomore full length, I’ll be there tomorrow. Like their self-titled debut, their latest features a mix of Americana, blues, country and rock on ten story-filled songs that speak of love, death, regret, and tough times. The two take turns on vocals, showing their capacity of a diverse range of styles, from the amped up opening rocker “Toughest Man In Prison Camp” to a hushed, acoustic cover of Townes Van Zandts “Colorado Girl” to a rushed electric rockabilly take on Delta blues musician Arthur “Big Boy” Crudup’s “That’s Alright.” The Sumner Brothers continue to charm with their own uniquely grit and reverence, making I’ll be there tomorrow another solid release. – Written by SMarx
