Portland, OR four-piece The Lonesome Billies are out with their debut EP of what they call outlaw country, Useless Bay. Recorded in 2011 in a garage and basement, like their punk rock heroes, the longtime friends created a rocking country sound over the five tracks while also crafting a narrative of about themselves. Filled with rich characters and no-good places, the small collection is solid storytelling and musicianship. Standouts include the title track about their hometown, the follow-up single “They Broke My Guitar” about perseverance and pride, and the brawling closer “Eye For An Eye.” – Written by SMarx
