No Sinner – Boo Hoo Hoo

  • November 9, 2014

No Sinner takes it name from lead singer Colleen Rennison (“Rennison” spelled backwards), and is a hard rocking whiskey soaked blues rock outfit that also draws from rockabilly, country, and gospel. Their debut album, Boo Hoo Hoo, includes six tracks from a 2012 self-titled EP in addition to three new tracks. The tracks showcase Rennison’s raw powerhouse vocals accompanied by jumping retro arrangements of guitar, bass, and drums. Standouts include: the rollicking juke joint opener “Boo Hoo Hoo”, the Creedence style swamp rock tune “Running”, the Motown vibe of “Love Is Madness” and the Dusty Springfield inspired “Spooky”, and a cover of Nina Simone’s version of Nat Adderley / Oscar Brown Jr.’s “Work Song.” Boo Hoo Hoo is definitely one on the most fun albums of the year that will definitely get you moving and shaking from the first track to the last. – Written by JFelton
