New York band Hollis Brown boasts a song-for-song recreation of The Velvet Underground’s 1970 classic, Loaded, on their similarly titled Get Loaded. Singer/songwriter Mike Montali attributes the original as a point of connection when the band was new, bonding over their shared passion for rock, blues, and roots. Following Lou Reed’s death, Hollis Brown played a tribute show in his honor, and decided to keep the love going for Record Store Day by releasing a limited vinyl run of 500.
