Recorded and produced by members Robbie Furze and Milo Cordell in their home studio, the debut LP from London’s The Big Pink sounds anything but homemade. Every track on The Brief History of Love sounds huge with heavy guitar noise, droning choruses, and programmed beats all united by the theme of love. At first listen, you may think you’ve heard these songs before. But after the initial feeling of déjà vu subsides, it’s apparent that Furze and Cordell aren’t copycat shoe gazers. This album should appeal to both young listeners new to the genre and older fans looking for something fresh. – Written by DBosket
