Forty years after its original release on Cleveland International Records, Pittsburgh’s Iron City Houserockers are releasing a greatly expanded 40th anniversary deluxe reissue of their sophomore album, Have a Good Time But Get Out Alive. Mick Ronson (David Bowie), Ian Hunter (Mott The Hoople), and Steven Van Zandt (Bruce Springsteen, Southside Johnny) combined with co-producers the Slimmer Twins (Steve Popovich Sr. and Marty Mooney) and Joe Grushecky’s Iron City Houserockers to put the album together. Have a Good Time (But Get Out Alive) sounds better than ever and includes a bonus disc with 16 previously unreleased tracks of demos and other rarities. The Iron City Houserockers combine elements of Chicago blues inspired blue-collar rock with early rock ‘n’ roll and soul, punk, and new wave. Standout tracks include: “Don’t Let Them Push You Around”; “We’re Not Dead Yet”; “Old Man Bar”; “Junior’s Bar”; “Runnin’ Scared”; and “Rock Ola.” Have a Good Time But Get out Alive is an under-appreciated masterpiece of hard-hitting Rust Belt rock that is finally getting the recognition it deserves! – Written by JFelton
