Timothy B. Schmit, best known as the bassist for The Eagles, has recently released Expando, his first solo album in eight years. Expando is a relaxing set of soft rock songs that showcase Schmit’s technical prowess and smooth voice (remember The Eagles’ “I Can’t Tell You Why”). He also has some help from a slew of musicians, including Kid Rock, Dwight Yoakam, Keb’ Mo’, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and Graham Nash. The album sometimes veers into extremely sentimental territory, but Schmit’s sincere delivery prevents the album from becoming too schmaltzy. – Written by DBosket
