The third album Somewhere on the Golden Coast from Los Angeles band The Henry Clay People is another kick-ass set of slacker rock that recalls past greats like The Replacements and Pavement and fellow contemporary rockers The Hold Steady. Somewhere on the Golden Coast features more of the anthemic songwriting, buzzing guitar hooks, barroom piano, catchy melodies and sing-along choruses the band has become known for. If you are not yet familiar with The Henry Clay People, their first release on TBD Records is a great introduction that captures the band’s live energy perfectly. – Written by JFelton
