Brooklyn trio Metal Mountains takes transports listeners to a fresh, sonic airspace with psychedelic folk album Golden Trees. Helen Rush’s soft vocals, combined with guitarist Pat Gubler and bassist/violinist Samara Lubelski, create delicate, introspective songs that take you off into a much calmer, tranquil place. The album as a whole is very cohesive with the songs maintaining a consistent personality, led by Gubler’s undulating guitar. There isn’t much variety in tempo or tone; the seven tracks on Golden Trees display patience and harmony with no one instrument or element overpowering the other. It’s a great album to take the edge off after a long day. – Written by DBosket
