Winnipeg band The Western States celebrates the tradition of Americana infused country rock pioneered by Gram Parsons, Grateful Dead, Neil Young and others. Their second album Bye and Bye was recorded live in Austin to analog tape in a homemade reverb chamber modeled after the legendary Sun Studios, with no digital effects or computer assistance. The band – comprised of Sean Buchanan (vocals, acoustic guitar), Nicole Marion (electric guitar, vocals), Ashley Roch (piano, organ, vocals), and Jerrod Falk (bass) – together with friends on Bye and Bye captures spirited emotions, intimate moments and a fondness for traditional music and recording styles.
