Thank goodness Texas fiddle prodigy and champion Lincoln Durham picked-up a Stratocaster in high school, because that trajectory put him on the path to 2010’s self titled EP. This blazing hot four song release showcases Durham’s spin on gritty, dirty blues, with powerful slide guitar and swampy twang-tinged harmonica. Produced by fellow Lone Star Stater Ray Wylie Hubbard, a country singer/songwriter whose weekly radio show features Americana artists (and who handed me this great EP at Pickathon 2011), Lincoln Durham EP is an excellent cd just waiting to be discovered. Check out all four tracks: “Living This Hard”, “Georgia Lee”, ”How Does a Crow Fly”, and “Reckoning Lament.” – Written by SMarx
