Grant Olsen, best known as the male half of indie folk duo Arthur and Yu, steps out on his own as Gold Leaves. Four years in the making (some of that time attributable to when his laptop was stolen), Olsen has finally released his solo debut The Ornaments – a likeable collection fusing 60’s psychedelia with doo-wop . He is joined by producer Jason Quever (Papercuts), Ben McConnell, and labelmates The Moondoggies on the nine tracks, adding orchestral strings and harmonious layers to Olsen’s vocals. Top tracks include “Cruel & Kind,” “Endless Dope,” and the title single. – Written by SMarx
