New South Wales, Australia-based singer/songwriter and storyteller Andy Nelson is out with his debut album Man on the Mountain – a collection of reflective songs about the pursuit of dreams, family, love and loss, all set to a rustic Americana style. Nelson has a penchant for melody and composition mixed with a number of musical influences. To quote Nelson, “With each song, you can hear influences such as Iron and Wine, Bruce Springsteen and Ray Lamontagne molded together to determine my own sound.” Album highlights include: the emotive opening/title track “Man on the Mountain”; the hard-luck tale “Late Night Letter”; the tender love ballad “Northern Dream”; and the atmospheric “Sell Your Soul.” Andy Nelson’s Man on the Mountain is a stellar debut and I look forward to hearing more from this up-and-comer. – Written by JFelton
