Identical twins Adam and David Moss (a.k.a. The Brother Brothers) have come together to create their debut EP, Tugboats – a moving collection of beautifully harmonized yet understated folk songs. The first three songs – the title song “Tugboats,” “Bird in a Tree” and “Colombus Stockade Blues” – are gorgeously serene folk numbers. Whereas the next two tracks change things up a bit with the addition of cello and fiddle on the tear-jerker “Come Back Darling,” and the more radio friendly “Notary Public.” Closing things out is the beautifully melancholic folk song “Cairo, IL” which also returns to the spare instrumentation that the Tugboat EP began with. This is a solid debut from two up-and-coming musicians, and I look forward to hearing their first full-length album. – Written by JFelton
