Seattle songwriter-musician Bryan John Appleby recently released his debut full-length vinyl album (with the help of a Kickstarter campaign), Fire on the Vine. Following the surprise success his Shoes for Men and Beasts EP, which he intended as a simple way to share some songs with his loved ones, Appleby continued creating folk-pop songs in his small apartment, gaining fans and garnering the attention of local critics along the way. In addition to his masterful storytelling, which is both emotional and evocative, Appleby is a fine musician with skilled fingerpicking and an ear for arrangements and orchestration, fluidly merging live strings, horns, cello, piano, and unconventional percussion (mason jars, hand claps and stomps). Notable tracks include “Noah’s Nameless Wife”, “The Words of the Revelator”, and “Honey Jars.” – Written by JFelton
