Built to Spill’s 8th album, Untethered Moon, sees Doug Martsch and a combination of new and old bandmates turning out another exceptional guitar saturated indie rock album. The studio release is another solid set of epic Neil Young-esque ballads and scorching rockers layered with dense reverb soaked guitars and shuffling rhythms alongside Martsch’s nasally vocals. A few standouts include: the opening track “All Our Songs”; the playful “Living Zoo”; the almost twangy “On Our Way”; the catchy “Never Be The Same”; and the dynamic anthem “So.” Untethered Moon is another great album by one of indie rocks most consistent bands.
