Baltimore singer/songwriter Caleb Stine is back with his fifth full length album, I Wasn’t Built for a Life Like This. Stine – who also regularly plays with alt-country band The Brakeman – explores the sounds of contemporary Americana and urban roots through powerful storytelling over the course of ten songs. Like his 09 gem, Eyes So Strong and Clean Stine’s gravelly voice is accompanied by guitar and piano, with his dark, honest and poetic (but not pretentious) lyrics and simple delivery taking the stage. In many respects I Wasn’t Built for a Life Like This is about love, loss, and the vibrant, troubled and passionate Baltimore that Stine inhabits. While it isn’t a pretty portrait, it is a realistic one, one where the beauty lurks within. – Written by JFelton
