Folk singer/songwriter Carl Hauck returns home to Chicago on his fourth album Windjammer. Named after and recorded on the street where he grew up, Windjammer intimately documents a young artist coming to terms with what “home” means as an adult. It is not just the place you go to every night, but it is the place you come from, where you belong, and what you miss when you are away. Hauck crafts beautifully finger-picked acoustic guitar tracks filled with sharp lyrics full of wordplay, delicate melodies and occasional backing of horns, saxophone, and strings. Standouts include “Coffee on the Rocks”, “Martial Reisling”, and the title track. – Written by JFelton
