Minnesota-based blues guitarist and singer/songwriter Charlie Parr follows up 2015’s fantastic Stumpjumper with his fourteenth album, Dog. This time the longtime musician is backed by Mikkel Beckman (percussion) and Liz Draper (bass), Dave Hundreiser (jawharp, harmonica), and Jeff Mitchell (guitar), weaving together both solo jaunts and collaborative pieces into one LP. Known for his songwriting, Parr continues to bring a heightened introspection that lays bare his struggle with depression and the beauty and darkness of life.
