Church Shoes, a new quartet that formed when frontman Nick Allison’s former garage rock band The B-Sharps split up, play retro rock and roll on their full-length self-titled debut. Despite their young age, the band members are quite skilled songcrafters and instrumentalists, turning out zinging guitars, thundering drums, tight basslines, and chaotic vocals. Standout tracks include opener “Odell Williamson Bridge” and “Big Bad World.” – Written by JFelton
