It’s been almost exactly one year since Record Dept. reviewed Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr.’s debut EP Horse Power, and since then the eclectic synth filled indie-pop duo Joshua Epstein and Daniel Zott crafted a nine more tracks to round out their first full length, It’s a Corporate World. These Detroiters, who are known for performing their live shows all suited up in their NASCAR finest, keep the fun alive and beats going with drums, loops and sonic elements in a unique blend of seemingly discordant sounds. The production is strong as are the singles, even the redux of the EP originals “Vocal Chords” and their take on recently departed spoken word poet Gil Scott-Heron’s “Almost Lost Detroit.” – Written by SMarx
