For the past decade or so, Perth based Davey Craddock has built a reputation for playing some of the finest traditional American music in Australia. Craddock and his band The Spectacles are drummer Todd Pickett (Kill Devil Hills), guitarist Luke Dux (The Floors), bassist Pete Stone (Abbe May and The Rockin’ Pneumonia) and pianist Mo Wilson (Mo Wilson and The Drivers) and together they play a polished mix of country, folk, blues and rock ‘n’ roll. Produced by Dan Carrol (Sneaky Weasel Gang), Craddock’s 2012 EP Going Home was recorded live to tape over three days and serves as a fine introduction to Craddock’s music; highlights include the catchy single “Keep On Waiting”; the soulful “100 Days”; and “There Will Be Light.” Going Home is a great teaser release, leaving listeners wanting more. That being said, earlier this year Craddock released “Better Alone,” the first single of his anticipated debut LP. – Written by JFelton
