Get ready to soak up whole lot of shoegazey angst with Twin-Hand Movement, the debut full-length from Lower Dens (Jana Hunter, founder of Lower Dens, was the first person to be signed on Devendra Banhart’s Gnomonsong label). This Baltimore four-piece plays country-tinged, dreamy music chock full dark, sexy guitar work and Hunter’s low, hushed vocals. Most of the tracks on Twin-Hand Movement sound like slow, deliberate walks in the night, with a few exceptions being the almost lively “Hospice Gates” and the closing song, “Two Cocks.” Lower Dens is a group that I’d expect to hear featured in a David Lynch film. They’re moody and suspenseful and definitely worth checking out. – Written by DBosket
