The Details are an alt-rock quartet hailing from Winnipeg, Canada, and their new album Lost Art shows the Northerners indulging in a little bit of great country tales and twang. The eleven tracks, which include two singles from their previous EP, The Original Mark, are centered around singer-songwriter Jon Plett’s vocals and the incisive lyricism of Sean Vidal (guitar). Notably, The Details made a gutsy production decision that paid off nicely, turning down a dream opportunity to work in Hollywood with Kim Fowley (manager of the Runaways) to team with the talented but lower profile Stephen Carroll (Weakerthans) and Brandon Reid (engineer, The National). For a taste of Lost Art, check out “Weightless in the Dark” and the duet with Jenn Grant, “Voices Fall.” – Written by JFelton
