Duluth, Minnesota-based musician Tony Petersen (aka Ditchbird) debuts his first full-length release Real Enough for You Now – a collection of upbeat folk-rock and introspective heartland rock written over the years. Best known as the guitarist for the indie rock band Social Animals, Petersen has been spending his pandemic quarantine exploring his own songwriting and solo identity as Ditchbird. Real Enough for You Now showcases Petersen’s multi-instrumentalist skills, singer/songwriter talents, and penchant for experimentation while drawing inspiration from influences like Scott Walker, Bruce Springsteen, and Jason Isbell. Album highlights include: the melodic sunny single “Be Good to Yourself”; the mellow strut of “In It Together”; the somber rocker “Radio Silence”; the upbeat folk tune “Bright Side”; the rhythmic folk-rocker “Same Show, Different Room”; the soulful title-track. Ditchbird’s Real Enough for You Now is a satisfying sunny release that is a good summer LP to groove out to. – Written by JFelton
