After releasing a string of well-received singles and EP’s, Texas singer/songwriter Doc Carter has released his debut High Tide for Low Times – an album that mixes elements of folk, country, roots rock, and pop. High Tide for Low Times is an eclectic 14 song collection set to Carter’s smooth tenor vocals, acoustic guitar keyboard, dobro, pedal steel, and drums, culminating in a polished, intimate, introspective and lonely album. Standout tracks include: the catchy opening track “Heading West”; the upbeat, groove-heavy “Take it Easy”; the traditional folk-based tune “Lucky”; the mellow love ballad “Stayed for Your Love”; the swampy “Wrapped Around You”; the reflective title-track; and the emotive “Sunshine.” Doc Carter’s High Tide for Low Times release is a solid debut album that is an enjoyable listen. – Written by JFelton
