Dominant Legs is a San Francisco-based duo composed of Ryan Lynch (guitarist for the band Girls) and Hannah Hunt. On their EP, Young at Love and Life, the two play guitar-driven pop that has a little whimsical element to it, courtesy of occasional bongo drums and Hunt’s soft harmonies with Lynch’s lead vocals, which sound like a hybrid of Stuart Murdoch, Devendra Banhart and Jonathan Richman. “My Girls” is a synth-heavy pop tune that recalls ‘80s dance tracks while “Clawing Out at the Walls” is a gentler love song that has a Kings of Convenience islander vibe. Lynch and Hunt seem to be carving out a little niche in the indie world by combining laid back acoustic, tropical music with occasional electronic elements and charming harmonies. Here’s hoping they release a full length next year. – Written by DBosket
