SoCal’s The Donkeys serve-up twelve of their early 70’s chill jams on their upcoming album Born with Stripes. More widely known as the band of Grateful Dead contemporaries Geronimo Jackson on the television series Lost, The Donkeys retain their connection with retro sounds, including the warm tonal quality, but incorporate some subtle modern stylings. With Thom Monahan (Pernice Brothers) at the helm of the mixer, Born with Stripes casually celebrates the joys of nature, traveling, and of course, the ladies, all in their own time, through laid back vocals and an easy going pace. This record makes for a great soundtrack as the early spring days thaw out and give way to the warmer lazy days of summer. – Written by JFelton
