Medicine – the follow-up to Nashville-based singer/songwriter Drew Holcomb’s critically acclaimed 2013 album Good Light – features another stellar set of polished songs that blend elements of rock, country, folk, and pop. Recorded over a week in East Nashville with producer Joe Pisapia (Ben Folds, Chuck Mead, Josh Rouse), Medicine is an introspective, romantic and at times lively collection that makes for an immediately likable and enjoyable listen. A few standout tracks include: the uplifting “Sisters Brothers”, the aching “Heartbreak”, the raucous rocker “Shine Like Lightning”, the Springsteen-esque “Last Thing We Do”, and the ballad “You’ll Always Be My Girl.” Medicine is one of the best albums of the new year – definitely worth picking-up. – Written by JFelton
