28-year-old Nashville based singer/songwriter Erin Rae (McKaskle) is out with her latest release Putting on Airs, which is influenced by 1960’s/70’s country and ruminates on finding your place in uncertain times. Throughout the record, Rae reflects with emotional candor on the past and present with hopeful optimism towards the future. Notable tracks include: the vintage sounding opening track “Grand Scheme”; the stunning and emotive “Can’t Cut Loose”; the warmly upbeat “Love Like Before”; the heartfelt meditation on mental illness in “Wild Blue Wind”; a beautiful acoustic track about being gay in the south “Bad Mind”; the pretty folk tune “June Bug”; and the hazy folk number “Mississippi Queen.” Putting On Airs showcases a talented and young yet wise musician over the course 12 great songs with the classic sounds of a bygone era that result in a gorgeously well-crafted and timeless record. – Written by JFelton
