Inside the Human Body is the second release from Ezra Furman, whose fractured-folk-punk captures the untamed experiences and emotions of life resulting in songs that are beautiful, funny, angry, affecting and poignant. The opening track “We Should Fight” is a howling acoustic guitar driven lament about living in a hard, unforgiving world. The remainder of the record fluctuates between vociferous indie rock and emotional folk tunes. Furman expresses his geeky alienation with nervous energy, shaky angst filled vocals, and clever sardonic lyrics that challenge everyday perceptions.
