Milwaukee, WI based quartet Field Report, led by Chris Porterfield (formerly of DeYarmond Edison), is out with their gorgeous second album, Marigolden, a follow-up to 2012’s self-titled debut. The ten tracks were recorded and produced in Ontario with Robbie Lackritz (Feist) and feature more of a pop bent (complete with well-placed electronica) than the folk rock of their previous release. Porterfield’s intensely personal album is emotionally complex, carefully composed, and shares finely woven stories dealing with themes of home, struggle, sobriety, and hope.
