Foxygen (Sam France and Jonathan Rado) is out with their fourth LP, Hang. On sheer numbers alone this album departs from previous efforts, particularly in its modest length of 30 minutes and in the employment of a 40 piece symphony. What results is a tight knit group of eight extravagently lush songs steeped in 70’s rock, all self-produced. Highlights include: the anthemic “America”; the energetic “Rise Up”; and the glorious 70’s AM/funk opener “Follow the Leader.” – Written by JFelton
