Goodnight, Texas is a duo featuring Avi Vinocour (The Stone Foxes) and San Francisco musician Patrick Dyer Wolf who met while passing through the Lone Star State town. Together Vinocour and Wolf bring the best of West and East Coast Americana sounds in their debut full-length A Long Life of Living, fitting in perfectly alongside other indie-folk acts like Bowerbirds, Megafaun or The Felice Brothers. It is a solid release from start to finish from the dusty mandolin-fueled tale “Jesse Got Trapped in a Coal Mine” to roots rocker “I’m Going to Work on Maggie’s Farm Forever”, from the upbeat “Submarines” to the more traditional “Old St. John” and on through to closing track “Car Parts and Linens.” A Long Life of Living is an outstanding debut album that has its roots in traditional folk with catchy hooks and memorable stories showcasing the talents of two musicians wise beyond their years and full of potential. – Written by JFelton
