Gordie MacKeeman and company hail from Prince Edward Island, Canada and their latest LP, Pickin’-n-Clickin’, is a high energy folk/bluegrass album with the spirit of rockabilly that will get your feet a tapping. The quartet features talented multi-instrumentalists Gordie MacKeeman (fiddle, feet, vocals), Mark Geddes (bass, drums, percussion, mandolin, banjo), Thomas Webb (bass, banjo, guitar, pedal steel, vocals) and Peter Cann (guitar, vocals). The fun begins right from the start with the spirited fiddle-driven “Champagne Polka” and the punchy “Gonna Get Out” and is continued through the brilliantly finger-picked “Old Joe Clark” and album standouts “Jim’s Lament” and the traditional “Black Velvet Waltz.” Pickin’-n-Clickin’ is a stellar album that should please fans of roots and bluegrass music alike. – Written by JFelton
