In 2009, Jim James (My Morning Jacket) released Tribute To EP, a solo effort filled with heartfelt covers of George Harrison songs. For Tribute To 2 – a pseudo-sequel to the original – James broaden the range beyond one artist, covering some of his all-time favorite songs. A few highlights include: Artie and Darrell Glenn’s “Crying in the Chapel”; the Emerson, Lake and Palmer standard, “Lucky Man”; a spaced-out version of The Beach Boys’ “I Just Wasn’t Made For These Times”; a bewitching cover of Abbey Lincoln’s “The World Is Falling Down”; a lilting take on Diane Izzo’s “Wild Honey”; Sonny and Cher’s 1965 hit “Baby Don’t Go”; and a twangy version of Bob Dylan’s “I’ll Be Your Baby Tonight.” Tribute To 2 is great batch of covers done up in the cosmic rocking Jim James style. – Written by JFelton
