Nashville-based Keegan DeWitt’s latest release, a limited edition 7” single is a brief, but satisfying pair of poppy, upbeat songs. Also known for writing scores for indie films (“Dance Party, USA,” “Cold Weather,” and “Quiet City”), DeWitt has a knack for writing lush, emotional lyrics that should rank highly among fans of mellow alternative and power pop. “Two Hearts” is almost a nod to the ‘80s with a strong dance beat, hand claps, and the happiest guitars I’ve heard all week, while “Reluctance” is a beautiful, melancholy duet with Isaaca Byrds of The Bridges. DeWitt is clearly a talented and versatile musician, who was also recently named as one of Paste’s Top 10 Best New Solo Artists of 2010. – Written by DBosket
