Scotland based sound engineer Charlie Ward released the full length album The Party’s Over as King Post Kitsch. In the course of a quick thirty minutes, Ward turns out ten tight tracks of 60’s inspired psychedelic pop and scuzzy garage atmospherics. Ward employs bare bones production, recording in both London and Glasgow, but what results is more than a reproduction of sixties era pop, rather an inspired interpretation of the sounds of The Kinks and The Beatles and some infectious tunes. Standouts include “Don’t You Touch My Fucking Honeytone”, “Fante’s Last Stand”, and “Closing Time.” – Written by JFelton
